Privacy Policy
EQUA Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “the Company”) considers the trust of the customer to be of the utmost importance, and feels a profound sense of responsibility to handle personal information about customers in a proper and confidential manner. For this reason, we have established “Privacy Policy” regarding customer personal information, and we are striving to enforce our personal information handling methods thoroughly with respect to all employees and affiliated companies. The details are as described below. In addition, personal information that the Company already holds and makes use of will also be handled as customer personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Handling of personal information
(1) Acquisition of personal information
The Company shall collect personal information using legal and equitable means. When requesting personal information from customers, the Company shall disclose in advance the purpose for the collection of this information and the details of its use, and shall collect only the personal information necessary to accomplish that purpose within the scope of legitimate business.
(2) Use and joint use of personal information
The personal information held by the Company shall be used within the scope of the consent obtained from the individuals in question, as well as within the scope of the purpose for which the information was collected. The purpose of use shall be the items, among those in “Scope of purposes of use” below, which are required in order to accomplish this purpose.

- Responding to inquiries, requests, and other communication from the customer
- Other purposes which have been disclosed to the customer and for which consent has been obtained.

If the need arises to use customer personal information for purposes other than those described above, except in cases which are allowed by law, the consent of the customer for this use shall be obtained.
(3) Providing personal information to third parties
The Company shall not provide customer personal information to third parties without the consent of the customer. However, this limitation shall not apply if, based on laws or other codes applicable to personal information, special circumstances arise in which there is a legal obligation or the like with which the Company must comply.
(4) Personal information disclosure, revision, etc.
Requests to view, correct, or delete personal information which has been provided by a customer should be directed to the Company’s contact point for inquiries. Except in cases where it would cause significant difficulties with respect to the business of the Company, and provided that the request has been confirmed to have been made by the actual customer in question, the customer personal information shall be disclosed, corrected, or deleted within a reasonable period of time.
Observance of laws and codes related to protection of personal information
The Company shall observe laws and codes related to personal information protection which are applicable to the information that the Company holds in its possession. This Privacy Policy shall be adjudicated in accordance with the laws and other codes of Japan. This Privacy Policy establishes a basic policy for the handling of personal information by the Company, and the Company shall endeavor to protect personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and based on laws and codes such as the Personal Information Protection Law.
Measures for safely managing personal information
The Company shall protect personal information from illicit access, loss, destruction, manipulation, leaks, and the like, shall establish a management organization for ensuring accuracy and safety, and shall implement appropriate safety measures. In addition, the Company shall limit entry of outsiders to the office that handles the personal information, shall carry out education and enlightenment activities for all executives, employees, and others who are involved in the protection of the personal information held by the Company, and shall appoint a party responsible for management who will be committed to managing the personal information in a suitable manner.
Continual improvement
The Company shall continually review and improve its efforts toward personal information protection in order to respond to changes in the laws of Japan that must be obeyed, and to changes in handling methods and the handling environment.
